The three acre boating lake in Thompson Park is fed by water from the River Brun which meanders through this Green Flag Park near to the town centre. Edged by the beautiful rose garden, you can hire boats to row around the lake, take in the views or enjoy the wildlife. Afterwards you can enjoy a cup of tea and relax by the boathouse next to the lake. Model boat enthusiasts can launch their boats from the specially constructed launching platform (annual permits can be purchased from Burnley Council and may even be able to take part in a model boat regatta)
