Bowring Park

Bowring Park - Roby Road, Knowsley, Merseyside L36 4HD

Bowring Park is the oldest public park in Knowsley, originally forming the heart of the ancient Roby Hall Estate. The Estate was gifted to the people of Liverpool as a park in 1906 and was formally opened as Bowring Park in 1907. The Park boasted a fine display of formal gardens, historic open parkland and a golf course. Roby Hall was located mid-way between the golf club and the buildings that are now the Friends meeting rooms, and overlooked the terrace area and the golf course. The park staff used the Hall until shortly after the Second World War when it was demolished. The Friends of Bowring Park were formed in 1989. The Friends have a visitor centre in the park and have a busy programme of community events. For more information please visit web-site. For course bookings call 0151 489 1901
